What Color are your Dreams?
an illustrated book of poetry

In this collection of thirty-four poems, Ruth weaves reality as we know it not only with a possible future reality but also with the surreal, a reality in which earthly Jerusalem, her home, stretches towards Heavenly Jerusalem. Inspired by these poems, the ten original line-drawings by the renowned artist, Chana Helen Rosenberg, lend a unique graphic dimension to these poems of peace and light.

Ruth Fogelman's dreams are very colorful. They spring not only from the hope for universal peace and love, which is perhaps the main theme of this book, but from the sights and sounds of daily life in the Old City of Jerusalem and in Israel generally, and the imagery mingles the visionary and fabulous with the down-to-earth. A life- and spirit-affirming work.
Esther Cameron, Editor, The Deronda Review, author of The Consciousness of Earth and other works
Ruth Fogelman’s new poems remind us that life’s daily blessings and moments of joy bring welcome sparks of light into the world, providing “a glimpse of Eden” while protecting us from the rage and darkness swirling around us. Circumstances may cause us to doubt, but she assures us that “life’s good” and in time all the living will dwell in light. Like a matchmaker bringing together truth and peace, dream and reality, color and light, she offers us “a taste of coexistence” amid the colorful stalls and alleys of Jerusalem’s Old City. Her words testify that poets can “pull heaven down to earth” and each “poem has a light of its own” that can in turn light a flame in others. With our return and our country revived, Jerusalem is “again bathed in light” that “spreads to the four corners of the world.”
