She Dipped Her Pen in Time
She dipped her pen in time and wrote of crawling, walking, running
along the twisting, endless passages of time’s huge palace.
She dreamt of waltzing with her beloved to the end of time.
She dipped her pen in the end of days and wrote of lambs at play
with wolves, of days when poverty and famine are banished from the world,
when calls to war no longer threaten those who yearn for peace.
Each day she prayed that she might watch these times unfold.
