WHAT'S NEW
My poem, "Ark Blues"
appears in Voices Israel Anthology Vol. 48
Ark Blues
“Noah! This ark’s too dark!” whined the zebra.
“No, it isn’t,” countered the rhino and hippo.
The panther and panda snarled “Hey, stop being so rude!”
“Oh just shut up!” crowed the rooster
and the dove flew up to the roof and cooed.
“Noah! It’s too hot!” bawled the panther and panda.
“Open the window,” screamed the rhino and hippo.
“Then I’ll be cold,” complained the cobra
who was always in a bad mood.
The zebra flicked its long black tail
and the dove flew up to the roof and cooed.
“Noah! Look! The rain has stopped!”
roared the panther and panda.
“Open the window!” bellowed the rhino and hippo.
The zebra added while munching its food
“We’ve been cooped up here for years!”
The dove flew up to the roof and cooed.
“Noah! We can see the tops of the trees!”
squealed the panther and panda as they peered out the window.
The rhino and hippo, the cobra, zebra and chimpanzee
all crowded round, stepping on each other’s toes.
Noah opened the window, whistled to the dove.
It flew outside towards the rainbow and cooed.
